We believe that being a solicitor doesn’t mean you have to be stuffy. Having expertise doesn’t need to make you impossible to understand. Having high professional standards doesn’t mean you can’t also be supportive, friendly and caring.

When Julian Dickins, Victoria Hopgood and Christopher Chidley first talked about opening their own firm of solicitors, it was with the intention of being the kind of practice they’d want to turn to with difficult legal issues, complex questions or in times of concern.

With this in mind, they established Dickins Hopgood Chidley in 1996, in the beautiful market town of Hungerford, in Berkshire.

More than 20 years later, their high professional standards, specialist skills and expert knowledge, combined with a personable, open and friendly approach to practising law, still underpins everything we do.

Today you can still expect to receive expert legal advice in clear, easy to understand terms. Your options will be explained to you, and you’ll be assisted to find the best solution for your individual situation.

We always search for the best, most practical solution and remain mindful of cost at all times. We’ll explain the costs involved in our work from the outset, and should anything change, you’ll be kept informed at all times.

Of course, there have been some changes along the way. Our team has grown and now includes seven solicitors and three experienced conveyancers, all of whom specialise in their own particular fields of expertise. We also have a Notary Public and an Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator.

We’ve built our business by establishing our reputation. Many of our clients have returned to us for the various personal and business legal requirements over the years. We hope to build the same long-lasting relationship with every new client too.
